Tortured by a princess

I have no idea why but I was totally excited when the book arrived on my Kindle on the release day. I have never been a huge fan of the original trilogy, must be the princess inside me who is torturing me.
If you think America was a pain in the bum, you haven't met Eadlyn. Gosh, that girl was doing my head in. She is dumb, she is arrogant, she is treating people like shit and then she is wondering why nobody likes her. What a surprise.
While the other three books still kind of entertained me, "The heir" was mostly boring. There were no surprises, the dates are boring and there aren't even bitch fights as there are no girls being selected. Did I say it was boring?!
The reason for another selection is just ridiculous. I know the series is rather for younger readers but come on, you need some depth in the storyline.
Even though I didn't like this book, I know I will be totally excited again whenever part 5 comes out. Unless I got rid of that torturing princess by then.
