This is the first book I have read by this author. Although there is a previous book in this series, it can be easily read as a standalone. I never had the feeling I was missing out on anything.
I really liked the premise of this book: two rivaling families in the wedding planer business, one bet and a new love.
Unfortunately the book didn't meet my expectations. I had the feeling that especially love story was very rushed and for me there was never any chemistry. There weren't even sparks until there was suddenly a first kiss.
I was a bit disappointed that the challenges in the bet played a very minor role. I would have liked to read more about it but unfortunately they were often only mentioned.
The author's writing style was easy and enjoyable to read, so I might read more books by this author.
