Still 14 year old Alex Rider joins Sabina and her father a New Years Eve party held by Desmond McCain and survives a car accident.
Also Alex is done with the MI6 and all their stuff about spying.
But Henry Blaumann, a journalist, reaches out to him to inform him that he wants to write about him and publish a book. Either with Alex cooperation or without. Alex and Jack contact MI6 to receive help here, but MI6 blackmail Alex and says that they can only help when he is working for them. So he receives a new job task.
To full fill his job he must go with his class to a GEN food company to copy files from the computer. But during this he overhears a conversation between the owner of the company, who was also at the New Years Eve party, and McCain, also he is discovered and survives barely.
As usual with Alex he has to fight for his life and saving the world.
But still this book was better than the before, cause Alex is behaving as a normal 14 year old boy.
